Green Initiatives Committee Survey Results

Green Initiatives Committee Survey Results

We asked and you answered!

The results from our GIC survey that was launched in January are in and we would like to share them. We would also like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone that took the time to answer the questions and provide us with valuable feedback.

Now onto the results!

The Green Initiatives Committee wants to focus our time and resources on the areas that matter the most to you as a community. Based on this survey we heard that those areas are:

·      Biodiversity/Gardening

·      Energy Conservation/Renewable Energy

·      Green Transportation

·      Sharing Economy

The committee is happy to report that we are engaging projects that meet those areas of interest. Soon you will see information regarding a possible Cargo Bike sharing program, a buy/sell/trade community group (featured on Facebook), and we are working on a proposal for construction of solar panels in the community.

In addition to wanting to learn what areas to focus on for the community, we also wanted to hear about how you want to be involved. The most popular option was wanting to attend events whether that be virtual or in person and hands on in the future. The committee hopes to be able to host more events (as restrictions and regulations allow) so stay tuned!

Lastly from the survey was that our Facebook group was the most prominent featured form of communication from the committee followed by an interest in a Green Initiatives Committee Mailing List. Our Facebook group is always looking for more members, so please join and feel free to share your Green Initiatives thoughts and ideas. You can find the Facebook page on the Mount Pleasant Community Association page. Next up be on the lookout for information regarding the mailing list.

If you want to get involved and be a part of making Mount Pleasant a greener community, we would love to have you join the committee. Please email green@mpca.ca for more information or if you have any questions.

All the best,

The MPCA Green Initiatives Committee
