Dear MPCA Community,
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude for the tremendous turnout at our recent Annual General Meeting (AGM). Your enthusiastic participation truly made this event a resounding success.
We are also pleased to acknowledge the presence of Councillor Terry Wong, who graciously attended the AGM and made himself available to our community. Your support and engagement with our local government representatives are integral to our mission.
This AGM marks a significant transition for our organization, and we want to express our appreciation for Philip Carr’s dedicated service as Past President. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.
We are excited to announce that Jessica Karpat, who has served an extended 4-year term as President, is now stepping into the Past President role. In doing so, she continues the legacy of leadership within our community, taking the torch from Philip Carr.
We congratulate Chris Best on assuming the role of MPCA President. His commitment to our community will undoubtedly contribute to our ongoing success.
We are also pleased to welcome Darcy Lane as our Vice President. Darcy brings fresh insights and energy to our executive team.
However, it’s important to note that we did not receive any nominations for the Treasurer position during the AGM. We are actively seeking someone from our community who is willing to join the executive board in this crucial role. Your involvement is essential for the smooth operation of our organization.
Furthermore, we’re delighted to see the continuation of the great work and projects initiated by Kathryn McIntosh, Jeff Gerlitz, Matt Crist, and Murray Anderson as they assume another term in their respective Director roles.
In the spirit of continuity and growth, we’d like to share an important opportunity within our organization. Murray, who serves as our Hall Director, has been a pillar of our community for many terms, providing extensive knowledge of the ins and outs of our community hall.
Recognizing the value of this experience, we are looking for someone within our community who can join Murray in a succession plan. Murray’s intention is to mentor this individual with the eventual goal of passing on the Hall Director role. This opportunity presents a unique chance to learn from an experienced and dedicated member of our community.
As we move forward, we remain committed to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable community. Your continued support and active engagement are what make this mission possible. We look forward to another year of exciting projects and initiatives.
Thank you for being a part of our remarkable community.
Warm regards,
MPCA Board of Directors
