FAAS and Chandos are continuing to finalize the design, and are targeting June 30th for the DP submission (give or take a few days). We have reviewed the current design, which we will be sharing with you on Tuesday evening.
Engagement Update
Our engagement dates have been set for July 13 – 31. This will allow the design team to address the feedback from the community at the same time that they are addressing DTR comments.
Postcards will be delivered to the community at the end of June with details on where to find information, and how to provide feedback. In July, we will have bold signs around the community and geo-targeted social media ads. We’re offering three ways for people to provide feedback:
1) Our online engagement portal will have a detailed information package and a short survey. This is the easiest way for people to provide their feedback.
2) Anyone without online access can call 311 and get connected with me. I will be able to send them an information package and take their feedback over the phone.
3) We are also offering virtual meetings later in July using MS Teams. This is for individuals wanting 2-way dialogue, and who might be extra-interested in the development. Anyone wishing to attend will need to RSVP and commit to reviewing the information on the engagement portal prior to the meeting.
Park Update
Calgary Parks has hired Wilco Contractors Southwest Inc., with construction of the park space scheduled to start the week of June 15th. The contractor has committed to keeping a portion of the park space open for public use for the duration of construction activities, which we expect to be complete by August. A small portion of the granular pad (future location of the affordable housing development) will be used as a staging area for the park improvement works. The Contractor has also committed to limiting closures to the sidewalks (adjacent to the park space) and ensuring as minimal disturbance as possible to the community during construction activities. Lastly, the name of the Park space has now officially been changed to St. Joseph Park.
