Health & Safety It is for the benefit of all that Playgroup children remain healthy. If your child is not well, please stay home, especially if a fever is present. If your child contracts a childhood illness such as chickenpox or measles please advise your keyholder so that other parents can be informed. Children should wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before coming into Playgroup and after using the toilet. Unfortunately, you are not able to make up missed days on another day as we have a maximum number of children that may attend on any given day. Toys are cleaned thoroughly 4 times each year with a bleach/water solution. Toys that have been in a child's mouth are placed aside by the parent and cleaned on a daily basis with the dishes before they are put back into circulation. As required by Alberta Health, we use a bleach/water solution to clean tables and all food related areas. All other cleaning is done with non-toxic cleaners. We do not use disposable cleaning supplies. The facility is inspected regularly by Alberta Health. Members should familiarize themselves with the location and operation of the fire extinguishers and know all exits from the building. In the event of fire, collect your OWN child/ren and exit by the safest route. If it is necessary to take someone else’s child, be SURE to inform that parent that you have done so, thus avoiding the risk of the parent remaining in the building searching frantically for his/her child when the child is already safely outside. Please assemble at the hockey arena. Do not go home until we have accounted for everyone. It is recommended that all children wear socks or slippers while inside to avoid having to find outerwear at the last minute.
