Is there a volunteer commitment?

Yes. Playgroup is a volunteer based organization and is only as good as its volunteers. There is a wide range in commitment levels from the occasional, to weekly, to planning and executive commitments, which require more external time investments. Some of the volunteer roles can take as little as 4 hours over the year, some can be done at home, while others involved planning meetings and after playgroup work. Explore the volunteer descriptions to see which will best fit your ability to participate. If you want to give in a way that is not on the available list or need help finding your fit, contact the volunteer coordinator.

I don't have a lot of free time - do I have to volunteer?

Playgroup is a parent run co-operative that thrives entirely due to the voluntary participation of our member families. If you have extenuating circumstances precluding you from fulfilling your volunteer duty, please contact the volunteer coordinator. If you do not fulfill your volunteer commitment then your cheque will be cashed/credit card charged $100. You also have the option of sending someone else to volunteer in your place.
