The playgroup fee is $37.50 per family per session (there are two sessions: Fall and Winter). To join the playgroup, you must also be a member of the Mt Pleasant Community Association ($15 per family living in Mt Pleasant; $25 per family living outside Mt Pleasant). As we need to keep track of the number of children within each day, we would like your infant registered once s/he is born… in the meantime, please notify the registrar of your due date so that we are aware that you are intending to register another child. The registrar keeps track of the number of families and children in each day. If the appropriate number of spaces open up on your wait-listed day, then you will be contacted by the registrar. The first round of registration is to be complete by October 15. If there are still spaces available after October 15th, then you can register for a second day. This would involve the payment of another session fee of $37.50, and another volunteer commitment of $100 (not charged if you fulfill your second volunteer role). Switching days will depend on whether there are spaces available and on the number of families on the waiting list. You cannot register in person but you may register over the phone by contacting the registrar. As a community Playgroup, we encourage parents to come with their child(ren) to meet other families in a group setting. An occasional visitor is acceptable, however if it is to be on a regular basis then the family of the other child(ren) must pay a registration fee and provide a volunteer commitment. You must be comfortable in providing adequate supervision of the additional children as well as your own. We do not permit dayhome providers to register and bring multiple children. If you withdraw before Oct 15 for the fall session or before March 15 for the winter session, you will receive a full refund of the session fee, less an administration fee of $2.50 and your volunteer commitment will be cancelled. Although there are no refunds after the cut-off dates, please advise us if you intend to withdraw so that we can free up space for another child. Your volunteer commitment will then be cancelled. There is no refund of the Community Association fee.
