Mount Pleasant is part of Calgary's Automated Garbage Collection Pilot.

Calgary's long-term goal is to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills to just 20%, and recycling or recovering 80% of waste materials by the year 2020. See Calgary Recylces for more information.
